Pilot 4 Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

Through the SF DTI LDPP, Integration Technical Advisor and local primary care champions will teach oral health competencies to health care providers  to both facilitate effective dental care referral and implement clinic workflows that incorporate comprehensive evaluations that encompasses the oral health of pediatric patients.

Training and technical assistance will be provided to help providers and staff understand culturally relevant barriers to successful dental referrals of Medi-Cal pediatric patients 0-5 years in age.  Medical providers will also be trained to identify Denti-Cal providers near their office.    Technical assistance will also be provided to assist in troubleshooting workflow and reporting issues medical providers face in integrating oral health into their practice.  Training and technical assistance is provided at no-cost.
